Just came home from Nordschleife. Great atmosphere and of course very very crowded. It got pretty cold..

G25 install problems

Hi,

I always used my G25 without any problems. I have a new pc since a few weeks and today installed LFS and connected my G25. Installation went perfect, pedals and paddle shifters are working, but the wheel isn't. I don't feel the FFB and also ingame I can't see the axle moving (setup screen). The 'power' light on the H-pattern shifter thingie is lit, but only ermm.. just.

I've installed Logitech gaming software and according to the program, everything is fine.. except like in LFS, turning the wheel doesn't do anything in the profiler..

I've checked all cables and everything is connected like it always used to be.

I have a Nikon D60 since a few months.. nice body. I had a Canon snapshot but it got stolen out of my car, so I had a good excuse for stepping up to dslr. I mainly use it for automotive stuff, mostly trackdays. I bought the kit with the extra lense.. 55-200mm Nikkor.

I'm quit a noob though.. it's much fun but it takes lotsa patience.

Updeets.

I've ordered a new-ish engine, 2GR-FE. It's a 3.5ltr V6 VVTi, so I guess I'll have enough torque from now. 270hp/350Nm stock.

I need some custom headers to make it fit and previous experiences showed a nice bump in power because of this.. more like 300/310hp.
Far away from some of these dori machines here with 500+hp haha.. but still..enough. The MR2 won't be too heavy.. even with such a big engine it'll still be "only" about 1220-1230kg total. Should be fast enough. I think.

I hope.

lol.

Also some urethane enginemount bushings, a Fidanza flywheel and nice STACK gauges (oiltemp, oilpressure and coolant temp)

I also need to swap gearbox and axles because currently I have an "S" - series gearbox (for N/A 158bhp MR2's) and it'll probably start to cry when it feels the V6' torque.

Check out tirerack.com for better surveys, reviews en testresults.

I have the Ziex ZE-912 on my MR2. Great allround tyre, good traction on wet. But they are too much allround. They're nowhere close to the Potenza RE050A (yes make sure you get the ones with the A behind it) and/or the Goodyear Eagle F1.

Quote from sgt.flippy :There's one driving around in my neighbourhood, or a 3000GT, don't know for sure

Atleast you don't see it often!

lol that's quite a difference.. the 3000GT is a big-ass mofo..whereas the FTO is much smaller, like the Alfa Romeo GTV.

A 50/50 weight distribution is not perfect.. maybe static.. but once you're moving it's different. The RAC is more of a momentum car, not a "point and shoot" car like the FZ5.
